Right-hand fingering

How to do it

  1. Right hand ascending: fingering 1-2-3-1-2-3-4-5; the thumb passes under finger 3 on F.
  2. Practise hands separately first, very slowly, watching the thumb crossing.
  3. Once clean, put hands together in parallel motion.

Variations

  • Extend to 2 and 4 octaves.
  • Play it in different rhythms: dotted, triplets, groups of four.
  • Hands together a third or a sixth apart (instead of in unison).
  • Once mastered, transpose to G, D, A and E major.

Tips

  • Prepare the thumb by moving it toward its note before its turn arrives.
