What to do

Ascending thirds only: decide whether they sound major or minor.

  1. Step 1Listen to the ascending third: two notes sound, the lower one first.
  2. Step 2Decide only whether it is Major or Minor; you do not need to name the degree, it is always a third.
  3. Step 3Hint: the minor version sounds one semitone tighter and darker than the major.
