Identify chord tones

Melodic dictation and chord trainer in context.

1. Step 1Look at the chord sounding and spell out its notes: root, third, fifth and, if it has one, seventh.
2. Step 2Listen to the melody note and decide whether it coincides with any note of the chord.
3. Step 3If it coincides, it is a chord tone (a stable point); if not, it is a decoration from outside the chord.
4. Step 4Confirm your answer and repeat until you recognise the chord tones confidently.
