Read dots and ties — basic

Introduce the dot: the dotted quarter note among quarters and eighths, to feel the half-value lengthening.

1. Step 1Quarter notes, dotted quarter notes and eighths will appear.
2. Step 2Read the dot as half a value more: the dotted quarter lasts one beat and a half.
3. Step 3Use the plain quarter notes as a reference to feel the lengthening of the dot.
