Subdivide the beat — basic

First step of subdivision: split each beat into two eighth notes (1-and-2-and) keeping quarter notes as a reference.

1. Step 1Patterns with quarter and eighth notes will play.
2. Step 2Count '1 and 2 and': the eighth notes fall on the numbers and on the 'and's.
3. Step 3Use the quarter notes as an anchor and feel the two-part subdivision inside each beat.
