Play augmented triads — basic
What to do
Play the augmented triad shown, with simple roots (C, G, F).
- Step 1Look at the chord shown and play it on the instrument: it is an augmented triad (root, major third and augmented fifth).
- Step 2The chord can start from any of the simple roots (C, G or F).
- Step 3Remember it stacks two major thirds (4 + 4 semitones); repeat until you play it confidently.
