Play diminished triads — basic
What to do
Play the diminished triad shown, with simple roots (C, G, F).
- Step 1Look at the chord shown and play it on the instrument: it is a diminished triad (root, minor third and diminished fifth).
- Step 2The chord can start from any of the simple roots (C, G or F).
- Step 3Remember the fifth is one semitone lower than in the minor (tritone); repeat until you play it confidently.
