What to do
Play the diminished triad shown from any of the 12 roots, including notes with accidentals.
- Step 1Look at the chord shown and play it on the instrument: it is a diminished triad (root, minor third and diminished fifth).
- Step 2The chord can start from any of the 12 roots, including notes with accidentals (F#, Db, Eb...).
- Step 3Keep the 1-b3-b5 structure in any key and repeat until you play the diminished triad confidently.
