Read chord symbols — advanced

Read symbols with sevenths: maj7, m7 and 7.

1. Step 1A symbol such as Cmaj7, Dm7 or G7 will appear.
2. Step 2Read the suffix: maj7 = major seventh, m7 = minor with a minor seventh, 7 = dominant.
3. Step 3Play or identify the correct chord and confirm.
